Grabbing the sunshine

There were a million and one things I should have been doing today, all boring grown-up things like the accounts, or sorting through stuff, or laundry. Instead, I siezed the excuse of the new dahlia tubers arriving to potter in the warmth of a real Spring day. No coat required, just plenty of tea, and, as it turned out, more plant labels than I had.

Pricked out: Tomatoes Mirabel and Golden Nugget, plus more Morning Glory than I can possibly use, even since I denuded the fence panels by finally pruning the honeysuckle hard back.

Potted up: Dahlias Bishop of Auckland, Rip City and Hillcrest Royal.

All of which made me very nostalgic for Outdoor Alternative, which is where I discovered Dahlias and growing stuff from seed.
